Itinerary
You are received upon arrival at the airport. Shortly after, we transfer to the hotel overlooking Lake Victoria. Protea Hotel (BB)
After an early breakfast, we transfer to the Airport for the short flight to the Mweya peninsula. When we arrive though, we are taken to the lodge to have lunch and to relax. The Mweya lodge is located nearby. It overlooks the park and has fabulous views of the Kazinga channel below. In the afternoon, we drive along both the channel and the Queen tracks with a private driver guide. Around here, we look out for leopards and elephants. We return to the lodge in time for dinner and evening rest. Over night is at the Mweya Lodge (FB).
The day starts before the sun rises over the water and wilderness below the lodge. We head out to look for animals around the upper side of the Park. By all ways, it is an interesting drive in the wild. Elephants, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes and a variety of antelopes roam the grasslands. We return to the lodge to relax and have lunch. In the afternoon, we get on the boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel has many animals. In fact, it is a large water way where animals come to drink and wash themselves. Moreover, the channel is natural as it connects two lakes namely George and Edward. In addition, this channel has huge gatherings of birds. Over night is at the Mweya Lodge (FB)
Today, we leave the Mweya peninsular and head southwards to Ishasha. The best attraction in particular are the lions that climb trees. Besides the lions in Manyara national park in Tanzania, Ishasha is the only famous region where the lions climb trees. In the afternoon, we go on a drive to search for the lions and other animals. Lions usually do not climb trees. However the lions here do climb the trees when it is hot so that they can cool off. As they lazily lie up in the trees, the lions are able to clearly see their prey below. Overnight is deep in the park at the Ishasha Wilderness Camp (FB)
Firstly, we make an early game drive to look for some predators. We then shift to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast. Hereafter, we drive to Bwindi Forest National Park. Along the countryside roads, we make various stops to see beautiful landscapes as well as homesteads on the steep slopes. The overnight is at the Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB). There is a flowing stream in the gardens below, whereas the thick forest lies on the hills above the lodge.
We have an early breakfast and wait for the best experience of this Uganda flying safari. To begin with, we register and attend a brief gorilla talk at the park office. Immediately after, we go on a gorilla walking tour of the forest. We search for the mountain Gorillas while we watch other animals of the forest. Before we meet the gorillas, it is not easy to estimate how long the walk actually takes. This is because the Gorillas move around the forest, and all the time. However, we have the highest chances of seeing them. In fact, it is a complete and rare adventure. As the sun sets, we may take a community walk through the villages that surround the park. It is also possible to visit the Pygmies. Overnight is at the Gorilla Forest Camp (FB).
After a satisfying breakfast, we transfer to the airstrip for your morning flight to Entebbe Airport. Here, we finally check in for your International departure flight. The Uganda flying safari ends at the airport.
