Itinerary
Firstly, you are warmly received when you arrive. And accordingly transferred to the hotel for the overnight rest.
Overnight stay at: Cycads Guest House (BB) or The Boma (BB)
After your breakfast, you are duly picked up from the hotel. We then drive westwards through the green hills. A variety of local farms and tea plantations dominate the landscape all the way to Fort Portal city. Here, have a stop for a lunch buffet of local tasty food or a La Carte as you relax to the sights of the city and the Rwenzori mountains in the background. We then transfer to the lodge and relax to animals and sounds of the forest. Finally as night falls, we enter the forest to locate the ever illusive night primates like bush babies (optional). Kibale national park is a huge protected tropical rain forest with a significantly high number of primates in Africa. The park also harbors a reasonably big number of forest birds and colorful butterflies.
Overnight stay: Chimpanzee Guest House (FB) / Primate Lodge (FB)
After an early breakfast, you start with a briefing of the activity in general and what to expect in the park. Then, enter the forest for the chimp tracking. The trekking in the forest undergrowth is really at your own pace. It is even easier along the trails in the company of the experienced local guides. The guides especially explain the life in the forest including of chimps, tree species,the birds and other mammals that live.
You see primates such as the Olive Baboons, Mangabeys, L’ hoerst Monkey, red-tailed Monkey,red and black-White Colobus. Subsequently, the highlight is meeting the chimpanzees. Uniquely, they associate in the trees or on the ground. Return to your accommodation for lunch and relax. In the afternoon, take another walk for more primates in the nearby Bigodi community swamp. Generally, the swamp shares a similar ecosystem with Kibale forest.
Overnight stay: Chimpanzee Guest House (FB) / Primate Lodge (FB)
We wake up to a hearty breakfast and likewise, views of the forest. Hereafter, we drive southwards through the villages and crater lakes area. Briefly, we have a stop at the Equator for the African sun experience. And then enter Queen Elizabeth national park. Queen Elizabeth national Park has open Savannah, rain forests and craters. Eventually, we check in at the lodge and relax for lunch to sounds and sights of the wilderness. In the afternoon, we do a relaxing nature walk in the Maramagambo jungle for chimpanzees. This area is known for its wild chimpanzees, monkeys and bat caves that have huge snakes. Thereafter, have dinner and relax.
Overnight stay: The Enganzi Lodge (FB) or the Katara Lodge (FB)
Enjoy early cup of coffee or tea, we then transfer to Kyambura. After the briefing, enter the forested gorge to track the chimpanzee and other primates that reside here. The encounter with chimps socializing on the ground or quietly feeding in the trees is an unforgettable experience. Return to the lodge and relax, Or even still, have a sunset game drive. Have dinner and a cozy night.
Overnight stay: The Enganzi Lodge (FB) or the Katara Lodge (FB)
Wake up leisurely to a sumptuous breakfast. We then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. This is the only forest in the world where gorillas and chimpanzees live together. On our way we pass through hilly villages with beautiful landscapes and mountains of breath taking views. Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique montane forest, with many wildlife species and birds. As a matter of fact, this jungle is one of the 2 places in the world where you see the endangered Mountain Gorillas!!
Overnight stay: Gorilla Mist Camp (FB) or the Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB)
Early morning, we set off to the forest. The walk up and down the trails can be adventurous. But the eventual highlight is the encounter with a family of the Gorillas!! You will have an hour with them for an experience that will definitely last a lifetime. You may also see other animals of the park like the forest elephant and duikers as well as beautiful birds.

Early morning, we drive through the countryside by road. Finally, we reach Entebbe. Along the journey, we stand in the middle of the planet at the Equator. It is possible to use a domestic flight to Entebbe (optional).

After a leisurely breakfast and relaxing, we get on the mid morning boat across Lake Victoria to the Ngamba Island. The forested sanctuary is known as the home to orphaned chimpanzees. These are normally confiscated from the illegal trade in endangered wildlife. In fact, some of the rescued chimps including babies are believed to be from as far as Congo. Soon, we tour the Island and clearly observe the afternoon feeding of the infant Chimps. As the sun sets, we also see the adult chimps as they return from the forest.
Overnight stay at: Ngamba Islanda Tented Camp (FB)
To begin with, you wake up to the sounds of the chimpanzees and the waves of lake Victoria below. We then watch the whole chimpanzee family as they feed. Thereafter, the adult chimps set off to the forest while the young ones remain behind wailing. Hereafter, relax and have breakfast. At around mid morning, we catch the boat again and cross the lake back to the mainland. We finally, transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
