Itinerary
When you arrive, you are accordingly received at the Kigali International airport. Hereafter, we transfer to the hotel to relax.
Overnight stay: Chez Lando hotel (BB) or Kigali Serena (BB)
This morning, we have breakfast and thereafter enjoy the tour of Kigali. In addition, we visit the national museum. We also go to the genocide memorial and local market. In the afternoon, we transfer across the Uganda border to the south of Bwindi forest.
Overnight stay: Rushaga Gorilla Camp (FB) or Chameleon Lodge (FB)
Following breakfast, we set off to the forest in order to see the gorillas. The nature walk in the mountainous jungle, is no doubt an adventurous experience. However, the highlight is when we meet a family of the gorillas!! Normally, they spend more time on the ground. We will enjoy an hour while observing them. When you stand in front of the gorillas, it is a moment that will equally last a lifetime. The forest guides do explain the plants and animals of the forest. After the gorillas, we return to the lodge to relax. Later, we can do a community tour in the afternoon. The walk that goes through the villages is an excellent way to see how people actually live (optional).
Overnight stay: Rushaga Gorilla Camp (FB) or Chameleon Lodge (FB)
Relax this morning. While we can do the golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga national park, this is optional. We then drive leisurely from Bwindi forest to lake Bunyonyi. This is by all means the deepest and most picturesque lake in Uganda. Surrounding the lake, the hillsides have beautifully terraced farms and homesteads. In the afternoon, we relax at the lodge insight of the lake. You can also take a swim in the Bilharzia free lake. Furthermore, you could go canoeing. It is also possible to take a boat trip to the communities that are nearby. This includes the Islands such as the punishment Island. We return to the lodge thus unwind with sights of the lake below.
Overnight stay: Arcadia Cottages (FB) or the Bird Nest (FB)
To begin with, we wake up to a hearty breakfast. Thereafter, we transfer from Lake Bunyonyi back to Kigali. If there is time, you may visit the twin lakes of Rubondo and Bulera. Hereafter, proceed to the airport for your departure.
