Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

On arrival, you are welcomed by the Guide and transferred to the hotel in Entebbe: Lake Victoria View Guest House (BB) or The Boma (BB)

Day 2: Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park (350km, 6 hrs)

You will be picked up from the hotel in the morning. We drive west through the green landscapes, tea farms and homesteads. We take a lunch break in Fort Portal town for a buffet of local food or a La Carte. We then continue to the lodge to relax to views of the forest. As night falls, we enter the jungle to see the illusive nocturnal primates like bush babies (optional). Kibale national park is a tropical rain forest with a high number of primates. Overnight is at Chimpanzee Guest House (FB) / Primate Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp

We start with the briefing about the park. Enter the Kibale forest for the  chimpanzee tracking and jungle walk along the trails. Exploring the jungle with inspiring local guides is interesting. The guides explain about the chimps and life in the forest. You may see primates such as the Olive Baboons, Mangabeys, Red-tailed and L’ Hoerst Monkeys, Black and White and Red colobuses. The highlight is an encounter with the Chimpanzees in the trees or on the ground. Return to the lodge for lunch and to relax. In the afternoon if you have energy, take a nature walk for more primates in the nearby Bigodi community swamp. The Swamp has a similar ecosystem.  Chimpanzee Guest House (FB) / Primate Lodge (FB)

Day 4: Kibale forest to Queen Elizabeth National Park through crater lakes (130km, 4 hrs)

We take breakfast and relax. We then drive south through the villages and picturesque crater lakes area. Take a stop at the Equator for the special moment and then enter Queen Elizabeth national park. This Park is an open savannah but with rain forests and crater lakes. Check in at the lodge and relax for lunch to sounds and sights of the wilderness. We do a relaxing nature walk in the Maramagambo jungle in the afternoon. This area is known for its primates and wide caves. Python snakes hide in the holes to feed on the bats. Return for dinner and relax. Queen Elizabeth accommodation: The Twin Lakes Lodge (FB) or the Katara Lodge (FB)

Day 5: Enter the Kyambura Gorge in the Rift Valley

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, we then transfer to Kyambura gorge. this is one of Uganda’s jungles in the Rift valley. After the briefing, we enter the forested gorge to track the Gorilla chimpanzee and other primates. Meeting groups of primates socializing on the ground or quietly feeding in the trees is an unforgettable experience. Return to the Lodge and relax, or have a sunset game drive. Have dinner and a cozy night at the Twin Lakes Lodge (FB) or the Katara Lodge (FB)

Day 6: To Bwindi 155 km / 200 km 5 hours

Relax to a sumptuous breakfast, then drive south to Bwindi Impenetrable. On our way we pass through landscapes and mountains with breath taking views. Bwindi Impenetrable is a unique montane forest, with many wildlife species and birds. This jungle is one of the 2 places in the world where you find the endangered Mountain Gorillas!! Overnight stay is at Gorilla Mist Camp (FB) or the Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB)

Day 7: On the trails Gorilla trekking!!!

After breakfast and a briefing, we set off in the forest to look for the Mountain gorillas. The Gorilla trek climaxes after an encounter with a family of the Gorillas!! You will have an hour with them for an experience that will last a lifetime. Gorilla Mist Camp (FB) or the Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB)

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable forest to Entebbe about 8 hours

Early morning after a heavy breakfast, transfer leisurely through the countryside by road or catch the domestic flight* to Entebbe for your outbound flight. End
