Day 1: Airport EBB – Arrival at Entebbe

You are warmly received and subsequently taken to the hotel for overnight.

Overnight stay: Lake Victoria View Guest House (BB) or The Boma (BB)

Day 2: Entebbe to Ziwa Sanctuary 210 km, 4 hr

We have breakfast and thereafter, drive through the countryside to the Ziwa Sanctuary. This is understandably the natural habitat to observe the Rhinos in Uganda. Relax for lunch. In the afternoon, we take a bush walk through the thickets to see notably the Rhinos. Enjoy a relaxed evening and overnight on the sanctuary grounds.

Day 3: Through Budongo Forest to Murchison Falls national Park

We start early morning and drive through Budongo Reserve. This is the biggest forest in Uganda with some of the rare and most sought after birds. Continue through the woodlands up to the top of the Murchison Falls. Enjoy the views and sounds of the thunderous falls as the River Nile squeezes through a narrow rocky gap. Check in at the lodge and relax to the magnificent sight of the sun setting over the wilderness and animals on the river banks. Murchison Falls is the largest park in Uganda with a wide variety of animals and birds.

Day 4: Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning game drive in the savannah park to see the predators returning to their dens and grazers begin the day. The Queen track is good for spotting lions while in the Pakuba area leopards and hyenas with kills can be encountered.

Along the Albert Nile and Victoria tracks, elephants, Giraffes, antelopes and Hyenas are seen. Return to relax and for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a three hours boat cruise on the river Nile upstream to the bottom of the Murchison falls. Crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants are visible in the water and along the shores. The boat trip provides an opportunity to see the water birds of the river Nile the Shoebill, Saddle-billed stork, Woolly- necked stork, red throated Bee-eater and long-toed plover and many others.

       Day 5: Murchison Falls NP to Fort Portal

After early breakfast, drive south through villages and upcountry towns as well as        picturesque tea plantations to Fort Portal at the bottom of the Rwenzori mountains. You will have lunch in the colonial administrative town of Hoima. This is indeed the main city of the  Bunyoro Kingdom. Overnight stay: Fort Motel (FB) / Mountains of the Moon hotel (FB)

Day 6: To Semliki National Park   80 km,                                                                         

Have a hearty breakfast and thereafter proceed through the Rwenzori Mountains to Semliki. Enjoy the views of the plains stretching up to Congo. You will a walk in the jungle and visit to the steamy Hot springs. The forest, animals and birds are however an extension of the vast Congo basin. Later transfer to Kibale Forest. Relax by the evening  with sounds from the nocturnal animals of the forest. Overnight stay: Chimpanzee Guest House (FB) / Primate Lodge (FB)

Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale Forest has the highest number of primates in Uganda. For example the Black and white Colobus, the Olive Baboon and Red-tailed Monkey. On this day, we go on the trails for Chimpanzee tracking with the highlight being an encounter with a group in the trees or on the ground. Kibale National Park is a tropical forest and naturally home to 12 other primates and 355 bird species. You will enjoy the walk as the guides explain the life of the forest. In the afternoon, we make a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp. Along with the monkeys, expect to see the papyrus birds such as the Papyrus Gonolek and White-winged Warbler. Other forest species you are likely to see are African Marsh Harrier and Black-billed Turaco.

Day 8: Kibale Forest to Queen Elizabeth 160 km, 4 hours

Transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park with splendid views of the Mountains of the Moon. Make a stop by the Equator and more so stand in two hemispheres at the same time. Enjoy an afternoon game drive while the sun sets. This park undoubtedly ranks the best in Uganda in terms of diversity with over 600 species recorded. On the game drive, you are likely to see animals of the grasslands. Birds such as the Yellow-billed Ox-pecker and Piac-piac usually ride on the back of an antelope or Buffalo.

Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park

The day starts with a morning game drive in the park and along the tracks of the Kasenyi plains. This area is famous for predators such as lions, hyenas and leopards. On the other hand, the antelopes and warthogs are the prey. Return to the lodge for lunch. Then, we slope down to the jetty for the adventurous boat cruise along the beautiful Kazinga channel. Moreover, this channel connects two lakes.

The boat sails close to numerous animals that stay in the water, like crocodiles and hippos. Others come to the channel for a drink such as buffaloes, elephants and giant forest hogs. Many bird species can be seen in the water or on the banks including the Great white Pelican and African Skimmer, The cruise ends down by Lake Edward with stunning views of the mountains of the Congo further on.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth to Ishasha

Have a morning game drive as we transfer south to the Ishasha sector. We check in at the Lodge for lunch and relaxation. Next, we enjoy a relaxed sunset game drive in search of the tree climbing lions. The drive goes up to the river camp. Certainly, you will see hippos in the river and primates in the surrounding trees.

Overnight stay: Ishasha Jungle Lodge (FB) or  Ishasha Wilderness Camp (FB)

Day 11: Ishasha to Bwindi national Park (60km 2hrs / 150km 5hrs)

After a sumptuous early breakfast, we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable. On the way, we drive through wooded and hilly villages, beautiful landscapes of mountains with breathtaking views. Bwindi Impenetrable is a uniquely formed montane forest with many wildlife species and birds. Bwindi is one of the 2 places in the world where you find the endangered Mountain Gorillas!!

Overnight stay: Gorilla Mist Camp (FB) or the Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB)

Day 12: Bwindi Impenetrable forest on the trails Gorilla tracking!!!

Early morning set off in the forest, the highlight being an encounter with a family of the Gorillas!! Whereas you will have an hour with the gorillas, thi is an experience that will last a lifetime. The guides uniquely explain the wildlife of the forest and the gorillas.

Day 13: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to Lake Bunyonyi

This morning, have breakfast and relax. We drive leisurely south through the hills to Lake Bunyonyi. This lake is unquestionably the deepest and most picturesque lake in Uganda. Furthermore, the hillsides have hanging terraced farms and homesteads. In the afternoon, relax at the lodge or take a swim in the lake (Bilharzia free). Alternatively, go canoeing or take a boat trip to the surrounding communities and the punishment Island. Return to the lodge to relax in the cool breeze and of course sights of the lake. Overnight stay: Bunyonyi Overland Camp (FB) or the Bird Nest (FB) 

Day:14 lake Bunyonyi to Mburo National Park 200km 4hr

After breakfast and relaxation, drive further through the mountains and cattle countryside to Lake Mburo park. There are five lakes in the park with surrounding rolling hills. Although the vegetation is mostly woodland, there are beautiful bird species. In addition, the park has giraffes, leopards, hyenas and zebras. Apart from these, the rare topi and Eland antelopes can also be seen. Also common on the lake are hippos and crocodiles. In the afternoon, go for a game drive along the tracks to see the animals and birds. Birding along the tracks, brings birds such as the Tabora Cisticola,  Grey-crowned Crane and Red-faced Barbet. Return to the Lodge to relax with views of the park below.

Day 15: Lake Mburo to Kampala or Entebbe

After a sumptuous breakfast, we have a safari walk in the park to see birds and animals in close proximity. Indeed, it is a thrilling moment if you have never encountered wildlife on foot. Lastly, we transfer to Entebbe for your departure flight with a lunch break at the Equator.
